Malpensa is one of the airports where the taxi fare into the city is genuinely fixed. Licensed white taxis at the official rank outside the terminals charge an official flat fare of EUR 110 between the airport (Terminal 1 or 2) and any destination within Milan's city boundary, in both directions. This rate is per vehicle regardless of the number of passengers or bags and includes the motorway toll.

Because it is a fixed price, the EUR 110 does not change with traffic, time of day or distance within the city limits. Always confirm the flat rate with the driver before you set off and make sure they apply it - some may otherwise default to the meter, which for the roughly 50 km trip can run considerably higher.

The drive to central Milan takes about 50 minutes depending on traffic. Only use the regulated white taxis lined up in front of the exits with TAXI signage; never accept offers from touts inside the terminal, who are unlicensed and charge more. Pre-booked private transfers and the Malpensa Express train are alternatives, the train being far cheaper for solo travellers.

DestinationApprox. fareTime
Milan city centre (official flat fare)EUR 110 (fixed)~50 min
Milan Duomo / central hotelsEUR 110 (fixed)~50 min
Milano Centrale stationEUR 110 (fixed)~50 min
Rho Fiera (exhibition centre)EUR 65-90 (metered)~30 min

Practical tips: Confirm the EUR 110 flat fare before departure and insist the driver honours it rather than using the meter. The fixed price covers the whole vehicle and tolls. Ignore anyone offering a taxi inside the terminal and use only the official white-taxi rank. Cards are accepted by most drivers, but ask first.
