CPH — Copenhagen — Taxi Fare Guide
Taxi ranks are located directly outside Terminals 1 and 3 at Copenhagen Airport. All are metered, regulated and reliable, and there is no fixed airport flat fare - the meter runs for the roughly 8-10 km trip into the city. Because several companies operate with different tariffs, the price you pay can vary, so it is worth checking the rate displayed on the door before choosing a cab.
A typical daytime base fare is around DKK 45-50 (higher, roughly DKK 55-65, at night, weekends and holidays) plus about DKK 12-15 per kilometre. A ride to the city centre usually totals DKK 300-400, and can reach around DKK 500 in heavy traffic or late at night. Some rides carry a small airport pickup surcharge.
The journey normally takes 20-30 minutes. Uber does not operate in Denmark, but Bolt is available and can be cheaper than a street taxi. For budget travellers the Metro (M2 line) and trains run directly from the airport to central Copenhagen in about 15 minutes for a fraction of the taxi cost.
| Destination | Approx. fare | Time |
| City centre / Radhuspladsen | DKK 300-400 | 20-30 min |
| Copenhagen Central Station | DKK 300-380 | 20-25 min |
| Nyhavn / Indre By | DKK 320-420 | 25-30 min |
| Norrebro | DKK 350-450 | 25-35 min |
Practical tips: Confirm the meter is running and check the rate sticker, as company tariffs vary. Night, weekend and holiday fares are higher. All taxis accept cards. If travelling light, the Metro to the centre is far cheaper and often faster than a taxi in traffic.
