WAW — Warsaw (Chopin) — Taxi Fare Guide
Warsaw Chopin Airport has an official taxi rank at the Arrivals level served by licensed corporations; as of early 2025 the authorized partners include ELE TAXI, alongside app-based Uber and Bolt. Use only cabs from the marked rank or booked via app, and avoid unlicensed drivers touting inside the terminal.
Warsaw taxis are metered, not fixed-price. Every licensed cab must display a roof sign and a printed tariff card in the window. A typical airport-to-centre ride runs about PLN 50–70, with the higher end at night, on Sundays and public holidays when tariff 2/3 applies. Extras for luggage or road tolls may be added to the meter total.
Bolt and Uber are heavily used in Warsaw and are often the cheapest option, frequently quoting PLN 35–55 to the centre off-peak from the designated pickup point. Card payment is standard in both rank taxis and ride-hailing; the airport is only about 8–10 km from the centre, so the fare stays modest.
| Destination | Approx. fare | Time |
| City centre / Centrum (Palace of Culture) | PLN 50–65 | 20–30 min |
| Old Town (Stare Miasto) | PLN 55–70 | 25–35 min |
| Warszawa Centralna station | PLN 45–60 | 20–25 min |
| Wilanów | PLN 45–60 | 15–25 min |
Practical tips: Check the roof light and window tariff card; confirm the meter is running; night/Sunday tariffs are higher; Bolt or Uber usually undercut rank fares; the SKM/KM train and bus 175 are cheap alternatives at a few PLN; cards are widely accepted but keep small PLN cash handy.
Fares are researched from official and public sources and are approximate — always confirm the meter or fixed fare before you travel.
