PRG — Prague (Václav Havel) — Taxi Fare Guide
Václav Havel Airport Prague has an authorized taxi rank directly outside Terminals 1 and 2, where AAA Radiotaxi operates as the airport's contracted partner. Use only the marked official rank or an app; avoid drivers who approach you inside the hall, as these are usually the overpriced touts the airport warns about.
Prague taxis are metered rather than fixed-price. City Council regulations (last updated February 2025) cap the maximum tariff at CZK 60 starting fare, CZK 36 per kilometre and up to CZK 7 per minute of waiting. In practice the airport-to-centre run comes to about CZK 650–800. Some operators offer a flat pre-agreed price to the centre in a similar range, which is worth confirming before you set off.
Ride-hailing is popular and often cheaper: Bolt and Uber both serve the airport, with a designated pickup zone, and typically quote CZK 450–650 to the centre off-peak. Payment by card is widely accepted; always ask for the meter to be switched on if you take a rank taxi.
| Destination | Approx. fare | Time |
| Old Town / Wenceslas Square | CZK 700–800 | 25–35 min |
| Prague Castle / Malá Strana | CZK 650–750 | 25–30 min |
| Náměstí Republiky | CZK 700–800 | 25–35 min |
| Smíchov / Anděl | CZK 550–700 | 20–30 min |
Practical tips: Use the official AAA rank or an app; check the roof sign and rate card in the window; ask for the meter or agree a price first; keep some CZK cash as backup even though cards are common; allow extra time in morning and evening rush hours.
Fares are researched from official and public sources and are approximate — always confirm the meter or fixed fare before you travel.
