LAS — Las Vegas (Harry Reid) — Taxi Fare Guide
Licensed taxis wait at the ground-transportation area outside baggage claim at both LAS terminals; a starter directs you to the next cab, so there is no need to negotiate. For direct trips between the airport and Las Vegas Strip resorts, fares are fixed flat rates set by zone rather than metered, which protects visitors from long-hauling.
The current Strip zone flat rates are approximately $21 (Zone 1: Mandalay Bay, Luxor, Excalibur, MGM Grand), $25 (Zone 2: Bellagio, Aria, Paris, Planet Hollywood, Cosmopolitan) and $29 (Zone 3: Caesars Palace, Venetian, Wynn/Encore, Resorts World, Sahara, STRAT). Note that flat rates apply only to direct trips; any stop outside the zones reverts to the meter.
Paying by credit card adds a $3 processing fee on top of the zone amount, and the flat rate does not include gratuity (10-15% is customary). Trips to downtown Las Vegas (Fremont Street) or off-Strip addresses run on the meter and typically come to about $25-$35. Rideshare (Uber and Lyft) is also available from the designated valet-level pickup areas and is often cheaper outside peak surge periods.
| Destination | Approx. fare | Time |
| Mandalay Bay / Luxor (Zone 1) | $21 | 10 min |
| Bellagio / Paris (Zone 2) | $25 | 12-15 min |
| Caesars / Venetian / Wynn (Zone 3) | $29 | 15-20 min |
| Downtown Las Vegas (Fremont, metered) | $25-$35 | 15-20 min |
Practical tips: Confirm your hotel's zone and the flat rate before departing, keep small bills for the tip, and expect the $3 surcharge if paying by card. Always use the official taxi line; never accept rides from touts inside the terminal.
